All News: Authorities hampered by violence to control Ebola outbreak in DRC

Since the Ebola outbreak started in August 2018, 1,340 confirmed and probable cases of Ebola have been recorded and nearly 800 people have died. Control efforts have been hampered by local violence and attacks on hospitals and treatment centres. Foreigners are being blamed for bringing Ebola to this north-eastern part of DRC and on Friday, Dr Richard Valery Mouzoko Kiboung, an epidemiologist from Cameroon who was working for the World Health Organization, was killed during an attack. Locals also fear going to treatment centres as they believe they will die there. https://www.who.int/ebola/en/
